The subject of aliens and flying saucers is no longer relegated to the fringes of the American consciousness. The public is much more aware than ever that the US government is taking UAPs seriously, thanks to news reports and official disclosures. One area of interest is the Pentagon’s work investigating alleged unidentified aerial phenomena spotted by military personnel.
In a congressional hearing on Wednesday, members of the House Oversight subcommittee were presented with firsthand testimonies by former military personnel who had witnessed unexplained phenomena in their professional lives. The witnesses reportedly took the opportunity to make some startling claims. One of the witnesses, former Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch, claimed that the government has been hiding a multi-decade program that retrieves and reverses engineers’ nonhuman origin craft. Grusch also alleged that the Pentagon is concealing these programs with misappropriated funds.
Grusch served as a representative on two Pentagon task forces that investigated UAPs until his resignation earlier this year. He says he has been informed of a classified program operating to recover and reverse engineer UAPs for decades. He claims the military has been recovering “nonhuman biologics” from these craft for years and that some of this material may have been used to develop advanced weapons systems.
During his testimony, Grusch claimed that the military was reluctant to share its findings with Congress and other agencies. According to the witness, this was due to concerns that the influx of information could jeopardize national security. He also asserted that the Pentagon has been repurposing recovered UAPs for use as a cover-up and that these devices could have a variety of functions ranging from spy satellites to military weapons systems.
Other witnesses at the hearing echoed the claims above of a UFO recovery and reverse engineering program, including a former US Navy Commander and a retired Air Force pilot. They cited various incidents of witnessing unidentified aerial objects that changed shape, color, and other characteristics during encounters. Some objects are also said to have traveled at supersonic speeds and have a kinetic energy that defies explanation by conventional means.
While the claims of the three witnesses are undoubtedly startling, they should be taken with a heavy dose of skepticism. While many of the rumors surrounding UFOs tend to lean towards conspiracy theories, it is essential to keep in mind that these events are still considered to be unexplained by mainstream scientists. Some of these sightings could be explained by mundane reasons like rogue drones, sensor malfunctions, and visual distortions, but some are not easily dismissed. Regardless, this was the first time that Congress had held a UFO hearing in 50 years, and the topic will continue to spark debate and interest well into the future.
